lyrics

When they say
By Dan Williams
© 2022

When they say what you want to hear
When they say they are the only one
, , politics, like
eating dry kool-aid
Just drink your beer.
Shut up and
And think

How do I
ever get out of here
Is it in one piece
Or with a fractured soul

When you get up from the couch
I hope you understand
Not everyone thinks like you do
When they say they are the only one
When they say what you want to hear
Is this real
Or just a show
Just drink your beer
Shut up and
And think

How do I
get out of here before this shit breaks
is it in one piece
or with this fractured soul

When you get up
from that couch next time
Try to think
for yourself
This time

Sim
By Dan Williams

Do you feel
Like a sim
Living in
A bad game

You cannot quit
You have to play
Everyday

There is nothing
to win
We end up
All the same
Some accepting their fate
Most others blaming
the game

If there’s only one exit
And no one
Is rushing
To end
This thing

another media day
dollars will be made
if you listen

If there’s only one
take away
For certain they will change the rules

As soon as you think for your-self
you begin to catch on
If you go to grind
And that makes
you feel real good

Then they already have you
Under their money control

Have you donated lately
Did you know
I’m running
For president . . . again

My ego is so big
I need
all your money

I only have the best of intentions

I’ll lead you on
When it comes to the money
No-one survives contact with me

Do you feel
Like a sim
Living in
A real bad game

There is nothing
to win
We end up
All the same

If there’s only one
take away
For certain they will change the rules

As soon as you think for your-self
you begin to catch on

Making the Gravy
By Dan Williams
©2022

I came here
to collect. …..
Not recollect
With the kangaroos.
That run the show here

I don’t know who you are
But I am the president.
I was robbed.
At gun point
I insist

It wasn’t my fault
I ran away too
Keep doin what I’m doin
And you’ll be like me soon
If you see it like I do
Only we can fix the problem

Why are the margins so thin
That’s because I found out
…… pause
how to make
the gravy.

Before the tax man cometh
We leave out the
Side door
I came here
to collect
Not recollect
I ain’t too proud

I’d do it again and again
making the gravy.
I’d do it again and again
making the gravy

I don’t know who you are
But I am the president.
I was robbed.
At gun point
I insist

Before the tax man cometh
We leave out the
Side door
I came here
to collect
Not recollect
I ain’t too proud

I’d do it again and again
making the gravy.
(Total hip hop)
I’d do it again and again
making the gravy

Truth from lies

Are you going
nowhere fast
This is everything
Don’t fall to
Far behind
You gotta keep up
If your calm
But can’t resist
To respond
to everything
you’re holding on too tight
You’re doomed to repeat this through-(out) your life
When you can’t tell
The Right from the wrong
the truth from the lies

This is the sign
You are now
going blind
Can’t I grow past
That pea sized brain of mine
Put the two and the two
together
It comes down
to a simple thing

When you can’t tell

Right from the wrong
the truth from the lies

This is the sign
You are now
going blind
Just tell the truth
Nothing but the
Truth this time

Anyone can do it
Our very lives
Are the reasons why
because the lies
beget more lies
When the truth is rewritten

if they can make the ka-ching
they’ll do anything
To raise
the bottom line

Can’t I grow past
My golden ego bling
Put the two and the two
together
It comes down
to a simple thing
When you can’t tell
The Right from the wrong
the truth from the lies

This is the sign
You are now

going blind
When you can’t tell
The Right from the wrong
the truth from the lies

This is the sign
You are now
going blind

No where to run

if God
is a trumper
i’m in trouble
Double
If he won’t stop
The tv will pop
with lies

I am bound
to sleuth
And tell the truth

like water in your hand
that expands
His fame
will double

Get back
On the media train
But don’t Ignore
Reality
Of the day

Like dragons to gold

His fans well told
He will gloat
And the media
will have
their day

Soon to be not news
If the media don’t cover you
We could only hope

Indemnify the problem
Don’t just hope
You gotta vote
If you don’t
use it
You will
loose it
If you can’t see
past
your knees
And you can’t
read
the scale
Don’t worry
Justice
will prevail

Some how I
See this
as just
an inconvenience
With mass indifference
You’ll be back

The Allure of power
By Dan Williams

Hey brother
What did you do
They will find out
They always do

It won’t matter
how important you are
The devil comes
And the payment is due
Just trying to survive
running in all directions
the world around is falling apart

It does not matter
Even if You’re
Just a man

I expect
you to do
what Super héros
do everyday

I expect

Nothing short
Of a miracle
from you
Running
with the cup
Of power
is the greed
That spills
On us all

Are you
Living up to
Your
re spon si bi li ties

Are you busy
gettin nothing done
the world is on fire
You still have to put your pants on

We really don’t know
How many
Mistakes were made

Are Leaving us
At birth
To beg forgiveness

For holding the bag that day

come judgement day
It does not matter
Even if You’re
Just a man

They come in
By Dan Williams
©2022

Notes:
I was driving home one November night and was thinking about the soldiers who spent the entire night outside and then would come in for a couple of hours to eat, sleep before they go back out again. My thoughts and prayers are with the Ukrainian people.

They come in
To warm themselves
After a long night
After a long fight
They come in
They come in
To warm themselves
After a long night
After a long fight
They come in
They come in
They come in
They come in
They come in
They come in
They come in
They come in
After a long night
After a long fight

I don’t know about you
But it’s starting
To seem like

How do I chose
When none of the above
Is the right choice

I don’t know about you
But it’s starting
To seem like

How do I chose
If None of the above
Is the right choice

How could we design
A country like this
Where people work hard
But don’t get enough to eat

There should be plenty to go
Around
But the money got

Stuck with their greed.
I vote
None of the above

How could we design
A country like this
Where people work hard
But don’t have a place to sleep

There should be plenty to go
Around
But the money got
Stuck with their greed
I vote
None of the above

I Just want
My time
I Just want
My time
Oh Please I need
More time
To do
Why I came here
To do
I need
More time
To do
What I ought
To do
I want
My time
Back
You don’t get
To tell me
What to do
I want
I’ll need
More
Time
Before you get
To tell me
What To do
I’ll need
More time
Just pray for me
And
I’ll Prey on you
On your way on up
Don’t forget
To look on down

Lest you forget
Where you came up from
Don’t forget
Those
You left behind
Just pray for me
Just pray for me
Just pray for me
And
I’ll prey on you

While you
still can
While you
still can

What time
is it now
Just a question

Between debatable facts
And fiction

Are we closer to
To the end
Of this mission

Galactic control
Please listen on
Do you hear what I hear
That knock going on

Please believe me
When I say

theres Nothing
to worry Yourselves
about
Today

If you could
do nothing else
Please listen to this now

Before its banned

Listen to me now
Before I’m banned

Listen to yourself
Before your banned

Before all your freedoms
Become banned

Are they coming for you
Are you still free

Tell me what counts as freedom

Just some things we shouldn’t do
Just some books we shouldn’t read

Are you still free
Are you still free
